About Inherent Risks

Inherent Risks has had a continued presence in Ukraine since February 2022, providing risk advisory, intelligence, medical evacuation and crisis response services to Lloyd’s of London insurers, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), global media agencies, war crimes investigators, HNWIs and visiting dignitaries.

From our extensive experience providing essential duty of care and travel risk management services to literally thousands of staff and volunteers from global organisations travelling into, and around Ukraine, it became apparent that a more agile medical and crisis response option was required.

Most organisations have an annual, global insurance policy in place, but for many, they are told time and again that their policy is not valid in a war zone. Other insurance options on-the-market for short trips are expensive, laborious and require a broker. Not to mention that a majority of them are ‘self-rescue’ policies.

For us, this was unacceptable. Working with brokers, underwriters and compliance, we have developed an agile. cost effective and fully indemnified solution, which can be easily purchased online without a broker, day or night, with the flexibility to extend travel online for as little as one day.

Giving Back

Since February 2022, Inherent Risks has sourced and delivered over $1.5 million in essential medical aid and non-lethal equipment to frontline troops and hospitals in the worst affected areas of Ukraine. Our ongoing commitment to support humanitarian work in the region has not wavered.

We have united the insurance industry together to donate to several fundraising initiatives that Inherent Risks has spearheaded, including significant donations from Trawick International, Atrium Underwriters, Inigo Insurance and the Travel & Health Insurance Series (THIS).

Throughout the remainder of 2024 and into 2025, we are involved in several social and economic initiatives with the goal of providing long-term, direct positive impact on those who have been displaced due to Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine.
